This Privacy Policy explains how World Football Shop ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit worldfootballshop.co.uk or use our membership service. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Who we are

World Football Shop
209 North End Rd, London, W14 9NP, United Kingdom
Contact: [email protected]

2. What personal data we collect

  • Account & contact data β€” your email address, name (if provided), and a unique identifier we receive from Patreon when you sign in.
  • Subscription data β€” your Patreon membership status, tier, and entitlement information. Billing is handled entirely by Patreon, Inc.; we never see or store your card or bank details.
  • Access & download data β€” records of downloads issued to your account, with timestamps, your IP address and browser user agent. We use these for fraud prevention, rate limiting and licence enforcement.
  • Communications β€” the content of any emails or messages you send us.
  • Technical data β€” cookies (see Section 6) and standard server logs.

3. Why we use your data β€” legal basis

  • To provide the service you've requested (account access, downloads, support) β€” contract performance (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, secure the site, and enforce our Terms β€” legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in links, download notifications, important notices) β€” contract performance.
  • To send optional marketing emails, where you have opted in β€” consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting) β€” legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Who we share your data with

  • Patreon, Inc. β€” handles your subscription, billing, and identity. We receive only the data necessary to grant or revoke access.
  • Our email and hosting providers β€” process emails and host the site on our behalf under standard data-processing arrangements.
  • Authorities β€” only where required by law (for example, a court order or tax investigation).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

5. International transfers

Patreon is based in the United States. When you sign in via Patreon, some processing happens in the US. Patreon publishes its own privacy practices and uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers in accordance with UK GDPR.

6. Cookies

  • Strictly necessary β€” a session cookie that keeps you signed in. This cookie cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality.
  • Analytics (optional) β€” only loaded if you accept the cookie banner. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage in aggregate; IP addresses are anonymised where the option is available.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Account & membership data: while your account is active, plus up to 24 months after your last sign-in.
  • Download and access logs: 12 months.
  • Email correspondence: up to 36 months.
  • Tax-related records: 6 years, as required by UK law.

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to delete your data ("right to erasure");
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw any consent you have given;
  • complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use HTTPS, salted password hashing for staff accounts, and access controls on stored data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique email and keep your Patreon credentials safe.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the site (and by email where appropriate). The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
